Mike Duffy really doesn't need an introduction to a Canadian audience.
Born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., in 1946, Duff is the host of Countdown, CTV's nightly political talk show. Mike took up this new assignment after 11 years as the award-winning host of CTV's SUNDAY EDITION.
With over 25 years experience on Parliament Hill, Mike Duffy is widely recognized as an "Ottawa insider." As the Toronto Star put it, he is the reporter to whom other journalists listen for insight.
In his presentations, Mike takes us behind the scenes with the government decision makers in Ottawa. He combines his inside information with rollicking political humour which leaves his audiences both informed and entertained.
Mike is a former Visiting Fellow at Duke University; an ACTRA award-winner for live TV reporting; he was twice nominated for the "Best in the Business" award by the Washington Journalism Review; and in 1994 was named to the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He has received honorary degrees from his alma mater, the University of P.E.I.; and from Niagara University in Niagara Falls New York; in addition to numerous other awards and citations.
