The High Performance Company: the Power of Alignment
Every day you see your employees walk in the door. They bring their bodies to work, but do they bring all their talent,
their strengths, their resources, their creativity? In a high performance, vital company, people arrive at work energized,
ready to operate at full potential. They have a commitment to the company. They feel that their own values are one with
the company's values.
When people view their job in the broader context of their life, it gives people personal meaning and satisfaction, resulting in a more purposeful, energetic connection to their work. Values alignment benefits the company with focused peak performance from its employees, long-term retention, less stress leave, sustained productivity, and satisfied people who don't depend on their bosses for motivation. David's critical insight regarding the need &mdash and process — to align not only people to the company but also the company to the people, takes organizational results to a whole new level of sustainability. Organizations that invest in aligning personal and corporate values, and build accountability in the process, enable employees to make quality, aligned decisions and capture opportunities for the organization.
Reaching Real Leadership: the Power of Authenticity
Leadership development is at the end of the "flavour of the month" era with temporary and superficial formulas
for success. We are yearning for our leaders to get past the gimmicks, the rhetoric, and the fads, and be real.
Authentic leadership is about transformational leadership — making deep changes within ourselves so that we have the capacity to transform, not merely manage, the cultures that we work in. In "Real Leadership" you will discover how you can inspire deep trust and commitment, energize people to operate at their full potential, create a culture of focused peak performance, have long term retention, and create lasting, significant transformation in the lives of those you serve — not through the power of your position, but through strength of your authentic presence.
Authentic leaders are the real thing. They are committed to know what's real about themselves. They work to understand who they are and their core values, the values of their people, and the values of their company, and are committed to bring these into alignment.
Deep Accountability: the Power of Agreement
Everybody's saying it: Organizations need to be accountable. Leaders need to be accountable. Employees need to be
accountable. So why don't accountability programs work? You have to get to the deep meaning of accountability. If you don't,
accountability becomes just another company buzzword, or worse, a hammer to punish people.
David offers a fresh, personal, engaging and effective approach to accountability that unleashes human potential and delivers results. Real accountability is an agreement that closes the gap between intention and results, an agreement that builds integrity, gets rid of fear and blame, and relies on trust and ownership. Accountability agreements sustain focused commitment to what matters most. David's approach to accountability not only offers a process for getting a grip on results; it offers a philosophy for living and creates organizations that shift from over-control and dependency to a place where you can live your highest aspirations.
Embracing Change: the Power of Possibility
To survive, your business has to change. As a leader, you're the agent of change. But where's your road map? Where are
your tools?
There are eight stages of change. The first is attachment to the familiar. The eighth stage is possibility. Somewhere in between is chaos. If you can lead yourself and others to the point where possibilities are embraced, you have done your job as a leader. The "Embracing Change" session offers leaders principles and practical strategies to lead an organization through the transformation process. As you learn to face change with courage and clarity, you won't just have a stronger, more vital organization, you'll have a stronger, more vital life.
Leading an organization through change requires specific skills. As change agents leading an organization, there are both destructive and constructive ways to take an organization through a transformation process. This session is designed to give you a new perspective along with practical tools for leadership during this uncertain, emotional time for employees.
Simple Living in the Corporate World: Business and Balance
As high achieving business leaders, we spend every day putting out fires. Then one day
we look inside ourselves and notice that our fire is out. We realize we are no longer living our own lives, but our
lives are living us. Far too often quality gets squeezed out of life and, in
our harried and frantic world,we find ourselves making a living but not having a life.
Organizational Schizophrenia: Preserving Your Mental Health In The Midst of
Contradictions
Life and leadership in organizations can be very complex, wearing us down with endless contradictions. We hear
announcements such as, "be effective and try new things," when we know that trying new things will put some of
our effectiveness at risk. Or, "don't give me bad news, but at the same time, tell me exactly what's going on."
Or, "do more work with less resources." Or, "...reduce your budget, but make sure we have 20% more output
to satisfy the growing demand." Such conflicting messages persuade us to either go crazy trying to accommodate
both sides of the contradiction, or simply give up, responding with, "This is ridiculous. It makes no sense. I'll just
do what I want." Either response means succumbing to the resulting insanity.
